Seattle:

The Sounders FC Academy teams all kicked off their seasons in resounding fashion, going 4-0-0 on their opening weekend.

The joint USA, Mexico and Canada 2026 World Cup bid puts 41 cities and 44 stadiums into play, and per ProSoccer Talk’s rankings, Seattle and CenturyLink Field are 15th.

MLS:

David Beckham’s effort to bring MLS to the Miami continues to progress, with Becks making the first payment on county land for a Miami soccer stadium.

20-year old US defending wunderkind Erik Palmer-Brown has parlayed strong play with Sporting Kansas City and the youth national team into a move to Manchester City once the regular MLS season concludes.

Jozy Altidore’s brace versus San Jose is about 1.85 goals per millions girlfriend Sloane Stephens won at the U.S. open.

Atlanta United’s strong inaugural campaign may lead to some transfer calls for their stars, but club president Darren Eales says any such offer would have “got to be big”.

Sigi Schmid made his awaited return to CenturyLink Field, this time in the visiting locker room, before the Sounders and Galaxy hacked their way to a 1-1 tie.

United States:

The World:

While Arsene Wenger holds on to his top job, the losses keep piling up around him, with Arsenal’s top transfer negotiator leaving the club soon. On the other side of northern London, Tottenham Hotspur must come to terms with another striker flop, with Vincent Janssen now heading on loan to Fernebache.

La Liga leadership are contemplating on playing some season matches overseas, potentially including the United States and China.
