Ever wonder what months the Sounders get their best results? Sounders FC breaks it down.

It is difficult to understate the importance of the Sounders’ Saturday match at FC Dallas. The Sounders team site breaks down 10 things you need to know ahead of the game.

It has been confirmed the Sounders appealed the egregiously bad DOGSO red card given to Roman Torres. Probably best not to hold your breath for a positive result, though.

Although the number whisperers at Five-Thirty-Eight give reason to be optimistic about the Sounders making the playoffs (and even earning a first-round bye), it’s still an uphill climb if we want to hoist the MLS trophy again.

The clock is ticking down towards the MLS roster freeze deadline this Friday, Sept. 15. Read about the ins and outs on MLS Soccer.

The Guardian has a piece on “The Anti-Beckhams” — young English players including the three “Union Jacks” (midfielders Jack Harrison (NYCFC), Jack Barmby (Portland Timbers), and Jack Blake (Jacksonville Armada FC)) and Aaron Jones (Philadelphia Union) who are choosing to start (rather than finish) their careers in the United States.

The 50-50 Club (career 50 goals + 50 assists in MLS club play) is an elite circle for MLS players. Can you guess who is a member and who is knocking at the door? MLS Soccer has a listing of members.

The USWNT is playing a friendly against New Zealand this Friday, Sept. 15, in Commerce City, Colorado. Reign standout Megan Rapinoe is on-deck for the training camp after returning from a meniscus injury.

Maybe you heard, the latest UEFA Champions League is underway! Lionel Messi earned a brace in Barcelona’s 3-0 drubbing of Juventus — payback, some say, for Juventus knocking Barcelona out of the tourney last year.

There were some other uneven UEFA results (like a 6-0 decimation of Qarabag by Chelsea, and a 5-0 humiliation of Celtic at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain) but not all matches were as one-sided. Atletico de Madrid squandered chances away at Roma, coming away with only a disappointing point in the 0-0 draw.

Real Madrid plays Apoel Nicosia today in what should be a formality for the dominating Spanish side. Can anybody stop the Real Madrid juggernaut this year?
