Sounders at FC Dallas, recap: Refuse to win

Unbeaten streak runs to 13 with boring 0-0 road draw.

MLS: Seattle Sounders FC at FC Dallas Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

As the Seattle Sounders extended their unbeaten streak to 13 straight games their attacking woes became more clear. There were only two shots on goal, with both being speculative, at best. The 0-0 score is fair, and frustrating. Dallas is now 9 games without a win. Seattle is 13 without a loss.

Lacking Jordan Morris, the Sounders rarely got behind the FC Dallas defense. A stagnant attack could not penetrate a decent, but not great, defense.

In defense, the Seattle Sounders maintained their great standing. A full strength Dallas side was unable to get through a Seattle defense that lacked Chad Marshall (injury) and put Joevin Jones in attack while Nouhou played left back. Stefan Frei had a couple of great saves, but at most FCD could be expected to score a goal.

This streak continues, but it is not one that garners confidence. Against defenses that have under-performed throughout the season, the Sounders cannot score more than a goal.

One could breakdown the key moments in the game, there was an intent to do that, but that would take time better spent doing Saturday evening things.
