Major Link Soccer: Ola Kamara is nearing a move to... the Colorado Rapids?

Also: Pappa arrested (again), Dzemaili leaving (already), and Kyle Martino hits a nerve (acerbically)

Since he is a former Sounder, I feel obligated to put this unfortunate situation in this section: Marco Pappa was once again arrested for domestic violence. The former Sounder was apparently stopped on his way to Asia where he was supposed to join a new team.

How have USMNT players who returned to MLS fared in recent years? I’d say it’s a little more than a mixed bag of results.

The Colorado Rapids have emerged as front-runners for Ola Kamara. This can’t be right; he’s not Conor Casey and not a defensive midfielder.

Columbus Crew SC think they found their heir to Federico Higuain in 21-year-old Eduardo Sosa.

Both the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Montreal Impact are reportedly pursuing young Uruguayan striker, Rodrigo Aguirre.

Montreal head coach Remi Garde confirms Blerim Dzemaili will leave Impact. Dzemaili had only just joined the Impact partway through last season, but has asked to return to Bologna “for personal and sporting reasons”.

The Vancouver Whitecaps re-signed Marco Bustos, then loaned him to Mexican side Zacatepec.

Let’s have a little fun for a change. Check this out.

Jonathan Gonzalez pens letter explaining decision to represent Mexico. It was not an easy choice for the youngster, and everyone should be glad he has the opportunity to go where he’s wanted.

Josh Sargent made his Werder Bremen debut. The U.S. Soccer Young Male Player of the Year suits up for the Werder U23 team.

Kyle Martino’s shots at SUM hit diversity instead. Martino decided to revive the Costa Rica vs USMNT venue debate, and it quickly shifted into a discussion of USSF’s embarrassingly bad connection to the country’s Latino population.

Indy Eleven joins USL for the 2018 season. But really, the NASL is delaying their schedule until August for “international alignment” reasons. Its not at all because every legitimate team in the league is trying to move to USL. Not at all.

Soccer player Joanna Lohman ‘got hit by the gay stick and came flying out of the closet’. A person who goes all in on everything she does, Lohman has never shied away from what she sees as a “responsibility to stand up for others” - a role she’s embraced everywhere around the world soccer has taken her.

Canadian Premier League: David Clanachan to be first-ever commissioner. The league will kick off in spring of 2019.
