Alex Roldan is now the second Roldan with the Sounders. Seattle officially took Roldan-the-younger at pick 22. He projects to be a CM or a RB with the Sounders. Roldan plays similar to his brother in that he’s a smart player with good passing ability and positioning. At this moment he is not as strong of a defender and needs some work but projects well at either role. Like Brian Nana-Sinkam, he will likely spend most of his first season with S2 in Tacoma.
No one is that surprised as Seattle has drafted players they knew in the past and if any club knows everything they needed to know about a player, it was Seattle knowing Alex Roldan.
He likely will make an impact in the future with the Sounders, a club he knows plenty about from his brother and playing at Seattle U. He’ll be a perfect fit in the locker room. The potential to have a future Roldan-Roldan midfield pairing will be great.
Another one!
