Winners & Losers: Sounders 2, Orlando 1

Seattle clinched their 10th straight playoff berth with their win.

Winners

The Greatest Expansion Team Ever

The Seattle Sounders have reached the playoffs every single season since they’ve joined MLS. That’s 10 seasons in a row, the longest active streak in MLS. It hasn’t always been pretty, but it’s always been consistent. What a remarkable achievement.

Handwalla Bwana

In his 11th MLS appearance this year, the young Homegrown Player netted his second goal of the season. And it was a beaut too. I have nothing more to say than I love Bwana and hope he keeps getting playing time and appearances in my column!

Home Knockout Game Odds

Without getting too technical, the Sounders’ chances of hosting a knockout round game is in their control. Simply put, if they win in Houston and on Decision Day against San Jose, they host.

I don’t like math. Let’s not do math. Let’s win the two remaining games.

Losers

Will Johnson

Will Johnson is not good. At anything. Except he’s good at one thing ... Losing to Seattle.

Me: Hey Will, what’s it like to lose to Seattle, again?

Will:

Orlando City Soccer Club

That was Orlando City’s 21st loss of the season. They have now conceded 72 goals on the season—an MLS regular season record—and still have two games to play.
