Happy Thanksgiving

We are thankful for Adrian Hanauer, Joe Roth, Drew Carey and Paul Allen. Without them continuing the tradition of the Seattle Sounders this region would not believe in this team as we do. The owners before them inspired them. The owners that will follow them will carry our traditions forward.

We are thankful for Bill Predmore, for without him there are no Seattle Reign FC. He was willing to believe that an independent women’s soccer team would succeed in our region. On the field there can be no question of their success.

We are thankful for Brian Schmetzer and Sigi Schmid before him. We are thankful for Vlatko Andonovski and Laura Harvey before him.

We are thankful for our future (Smith Hunter and Azriel Gonzalez and the 100s more). We are thankful for our present (Nicolas Lodeiro and Megan Rapinoe and those dozens who wear the green and the blue and black). We are thankful for our past (Hope Solo, Michelle Akers, Zach Scott, Jimmy Gabriel and the 1000s of players who took the game to these heights).

I am thankful for Jason Churchill, Tyler Blezinski and Vox Media for helping me launch and maintain this site. I’m thankful for Jeremiah Oshan, Susie Rantz and nearly 100 others that have joined me on this journey. I’m thankful for my family and friends for tolerating this passion.

Most of all thank you for reading, sharing and commenting. You are the community. You are the People of the Sound. You are all Sounders.
