The Sounder at Heart Annual Awards wrap up with voting for the Moment of the Year in 2018. Past winners, in order from ‘09 to ‘17, are: fans meeting the team after winning the Open Cup in DC; Nyassi’s brace to win the Open Cup repeat; Alonso’s dagger to earn Open Cup three-peat; Zakuani returns to MLS play & exchanges jerseys with Mullan; Traore’s goal to draw level with Tigres in CCL play; Pappa pickpockets Pinedo to secure the Supporters’ Shield; the Red Card Wedding; The Save; Roldan caps 4-3 comeback win over D.C. United.
The question is simply, which moment will you remember for years to come? In 2018 we will run four groups of nominees, with the winners of each group and maybe an alternate advancing. Moments from the Seattle Reign FC, Seattle Sounders, S2 and the Academy are included this season.

Vlatko Andonovski hired
Seattle Reign FC lost the only manager they’d known in the 2017-18 off-season. Laura Harvey became a legend with the organization, and left a large hole to fill. So Bill Predmore did the only thing a club with ambition could do — he signed the coach that beat his team the most frequently. While this technically happened in late 2017, it happened after nominees for the moment of 2017 had already been selected.
Dave named to broadcast
I’m going to be selfish. I’m putting up a moment that is about me. 2018 was a special year for me and for Sounder at Heart — we celebrated our 10th birthday together, our slogan was on the jersey, and I was named to the broadcast for S2.
Julio Cascante Own Goal
Portland Timbers were dominating the game down in Providence Park. They dictated and dominated the match. Then Kim Kee-hee bombed up the flank, served in a cross, and Julio Cascante tapped it into the far corner. Thanks Julio. It was a good win.
It's technically an Own Goal, but Kim Kee-hee does all the work to make this happen. What a play. Seattle up 1-0 with 13 to go. pic.twitter.com/o4ihxVUzOA

Clint Dempsey retires
He was the greatest American outfield player of his generation. For some reason (you are the reason) he chose Seattle Sounders. He was ours for parts of six seasons, granting us one of the greatest strike partnerships in history, trophies, heart trouble, a comeback and then a rapid fade in form. On August 29 he walked away from soccer, as only a Seattle icon could.
Prior to the game, @WeAreECS honored Clint Dempsey with a full-end display. Each leaf on the laurel represents a goal he scored for the Sounders. The entire display was put together in just three days. @ECSTifo @sounderatheart pic.twitter.com/a7O7brSqCh

Raúl Ruidíaz 93rd minute to force extra time against Timbers
Due to the oddity of away goals and two-leg playoffs, the Seattle Sounders won the game against the Portland Timbers, but did not advance. It is a moment of sorrow, and of glory. For Raúl Ruidíaz gave us the goal of goals.
