Cristian Roldan’s offseason continues to be very, very good to him. The latest news sees Roldan called into United States camp in January with 26 other players from MLS. This is his first call under new coach Gregg Berhalter, who just took over coaching duties. The team has two friendlies scheduled at the end of camp. On January 27 they face Panama (5 PM PT, ESPN2) and on February 2 they host Costa Rica (noon PT, FOX). Both games are still to be assigned stations on Univision’s networks.

Roldan is one of the veteran players, tied for 9th in appearances, as Berhalter called in 12 players without a cap, including former Seattle Sounders backup keeper Tyler Miller.

Cristian is coming off a season in which he started 39 matches, scored 4 goals and collected 10 assists in all competitions. He only failed to appear in two possible games — the early exit from the US Open Cup and the second leg of the Western Conference semifinals (due to injury).

Berhalter stated that there will be an additional call to camp that will be announced at a later date.
