Chris Henderson was in Peru to check on two potential targets

Attacker Kevin Quevedo and defender Aldair Fuentes were reportedly the players in question.

If you’ve been paying any sort of attention to his social media timeline, you know that Chris Henderson has been very busy as of late. One of his most recent posts put him in Peru, where he was watching Alianza Lima host Melgar.

Although Henderson has admitted that he often posts these images well after he’s actually visited, this one appears to have been posted on the same day as the game. The man in the picture with him is Renzo Ratto, president of Alianza Lima.

It’s usually very hard to figure who Henderson might be watching during any of these trips, but a report in La Republica says he was scouting Lima youngsters Kevin Queveda and Aldair Fuentes.

Neither player appears to be a budding superstar, but both have made appearances with Peru’s youth national teams. Quevedo, 21, has played as a No. 9 as well as in other attacking positions. He’s scored nine goals in about 3,300 minutes over the past two seasons. Fuentes, 20, has played as both a defensive midfielder and a centerback. Defensive stats are tough to come by for Peru’s league, but Fuentes has scored nine goals in about 5,500 minutes over the past two seasons. Coincidentally, both players scored in the game Henderson apparently attended. According to Transfermarkt, the value of both players would likely make them TAM-level signings.

It should probably be noted that both players have been linked to MLS moves as recently as October, with Queveda connected to New York City FC and Fuentes to LAFC.
