Nouhou possibly on the radar of Ligue 1 clubs

Frenkie de Jong, Lucas Hernandez, and Nouhou share something in common.

As we close out 2018, we’re all wondering what the next year will hold for everyone. We’re making our New Year’s Resolution lists, and checking it twice. In the world of soccer, teams are also making their January transfer window shopping list. Which means soccer publications pump out content like “Top 10 Transfer Targets for This January!!!!!”

The Guardian published a list this morning marking out 10 players that teams around the world should be looking at this January. There’s the usual suspects on the list. World Cup winning French leftback Lucas Hernadez and young Ajax star Frenkie de Jong make the list. Victor Moses, who won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2017 but has fallen out of favor with his new manager also makes the list.

And then...Nouhou Tolo appears. Yes, that Nouhou. Our Nouhou. The author of the list rates the 21-year-old leftback at £5m, or about $6.37m. They also go on to say that teams in France and Italy have expressed interest in Nouhou. (Update: MLSsoccer.com appears to have confirmed the French interest.)

As is typical with these types of lists, any sort of move in January is far-fetched. But, it’s nice to see Nouhou receiving some international praise for his progress with the Seattle Sounders.
