With two goals each from Chad Marshall and Jordan Morris, and one apiece from Nicolas Lodeiro and Cristian Roldan, the Seattle Sounders defeated California United FC with a lopsided scoreline in the first of a pair of matches against the UPSL side. Wednesday’s 6-0 victory should not be a surprise in a training match against a lower-division opponent, but fans should be encouraged by the effectiveness of the Sounders’ offense over the 75-minute scrimmage.
The Sounders faced Cal United FC again Thursday morning, winning 5-1 (stats and highlights to come). The team returns to Seattle Thursday evening to continue their preseason training.
