Quick Recap: Looking lifeless early the Seattle Sounders fell behind early and never recovered. They lost Clint Dempsey to a red card, made subs that were against the half-time interview’s intent and gave up three goals while scoring zero. The season is off to a bleak start. The reasons are simple — squad health is a disaster. Still, it’s another game where Seattle didn’t look ready to win.
Urruti and Lamah take advantage of a Sounders team that has lost control, no longer has the trust of the referee and which can’t both to make the adjustments Schmetzer said they’d make at half.

Clint Dempsey, likely frustrated by contact, connects on backswings with both hands. Seattle will play down a man and a goal.
Strong possibility that Dempsey is suspended additional games.
Dallas opens the scoring after a turnover in Seattle’s midfield allows Michael Barrios to get the ball at his feet with speed. His low cross splits Frei and Torres, allowing a goal by Roland Lamah.
FC Dallas hosts an exhausted and damaged Seattle Sounders squad at Toyota Stadium on what should be a cool, cloudy evening in Frisco, Texas. Both teams are no longer in the CCL. Dallas fell to Tauro FC of Panama in the Round of 16. Seattle’s trip to Chivas Guadalajara meant losing a starting quality forward in each round of the continental championship. Each coach can now focus on MLS play until the Open Cup starts June 6 for MLS teams.
Unlike Seattle the Toros made substantial changes in most of their lines. Their defense is 50% new, and the familiar faces are changing. Still a young squad, Dallas added some international talent in defense and attacking mid.
Brian Schmetzer will have to count on his youngsters as the older players are either injured, or exhausted after going 90 in the elevation of Estadio Akron, Guadalajara. If Handwalla Bwana and Harry Shipp can inject life into the offense the Sounders may be able to steal a point.
