Sounders vs Montreal Impact, live stream: Game time, TV schedule and lineups

JOEtv has the match at 7:00 p.m.; watch with us.

Max Aquino / Sounder at Heart

FULL-TIME: Sounders 0, Impact 1

The home side did everything they could, but they just couldn’t manage to find a breakthrough against an Impact side that rarely looked dangerous. A couple defensive lapses and solid play by Piatti handed the visitors the narrow win on a silver platter. Leerdam’s controversial sending off didn’t help matters, but few players in rave green put in performances that they’ll be proud of. Onto the next one.

Substitutions: Alex Roldan replaced Handwalla Bwana earlier in the half, while Nouhou came on for Francis in the 84th minute.

60’: Goal for Montreal. Jeisson Vargas taps it in after some impressive dribbling in the box by Ignacio PIatti.

45’: Jordan McCrary comes on at the beginning of the second half for Magnus Wolff Eikrem.

HALFTIME: 0-0 There was little get excited about for either team this half, but the Sounders certainly suffered the worst by going down to 10 men before the break. They held on and almost created a good chance near the end, but both teams were held scoreless.

40’ Red card to Kelvin Leerdam, for what looks like a slap against an opponent after the Montreal man got in Leerdam’s face following a foul. Referee Ismail Elfath consulted VAR and decided to send Leerdam off.

17’ Stefan Frei makes a phenomenal save from a Jeisson Vargas free kick after Roman Torres brought down Piatti just outside the box.

“This we’ll defend.” This is CenturyLink Field. This is our history. This is multiple trophies, history. This, is the Seattle Sounders. Today, they look for their first league win in 2018. Montreal Impact, another team with a legacy that stretches through the NASL and various lower leagues stands in the way.

Against the Impact the Sounders are only 2-3-1 -2 in series history.

The Sounders are looking for their first goal in MLS play, their first win. They have injuries issues that they cannot fix tonight, but they can fix their off-ball movement, their use of speedy fullbacks and a midfield that should be capable of scoring goals.

Absences: Injury, international duty and suspension

Seattle: Clint Dempsey is suspended. Both Will Bruin and Henry Wingo are questionable. Osvaldo Alonso, Kim Kee-Hee, Jordan Morris and Victor Rodriguez are out.

Impact: Zakaria Diallo and Kyle Fisher are both out. Both are on the disabled list. Impact list no players as questionable.

No players are in danger of accumulation.

Ismail Elfath is the center referee. Edvin Jurisevic is his video assistant.
