MLS

ICYMI, Toronto FC are playing in yet another final. This time they are playing in the CONCACAF Champions League. Some think that Toronto is the favorite in the final, which is a new role of MLS.

There was one midweek game in MLS and it saw New York City FC defeat Real Salt Lake 4-0, the first time Salt Lake has ever lost to the Bronx team.

Sounds like D.C. United are possibly looking to bring Mario Balotelli. Reports are that the club has been in contact with the Italian striker. Sounds like he is part of United’s plans to sign two Designated Players by Summer.

Minnesota United FC have signed Peruvian midfielder Alexi Gomez to a season-long loan from Club Universitario de Deportes. The Loons will have an option to buy.

USA

Every Summer, the International Champions Cup (ICC) comes to the United States. This year, there will be a new wrinkle. There will be a women’s event this season. Manchester City, Paris St.-Germain, the NWSL’s North Carolina Courage and a fourth club will make up the first Women’s ICC, expanding a tournament built on marquee soccer brands.

World

The World Cup is right around the corner for some countries while it’s still four years away for others. In 2014, England had a disastrous World Cup and then followed that up by being ousted by Iceland during Euro 2016. Since then, their squad has evolved with fresh faces and a new coach.

Juventus were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by losing 4-3 on aggregate against Real Madrid. But the real question is, was it a penalty?
