The primary transfer window that controls MLS also controls the USL. Sounders FC 2 took advantage of their final ability to add players under contract in foreign nations by nabbing two 20-year-old midfielders from Australia. Jesse Daley joins from Lions FC in Brisbane, Queensland (a feeder club to the Brisbane Roar). Antonee Burke-Gilroy leaves the Newcastle Jets organization for S2 Tacoma.

“We’re excited to welcome Antonee and Jesse to the organization,” said Sounders FC Director of Player Development Marc Nicholls via press release. “Both players are a good age and have potential. We’re looking forward to watching them learn and improve.”

Daley is a versatile midfielder who can drop into right back if needed. He has 4 goals and an assist in 5 appearances with Lions FC this season. He also has a goal in 175 minutes of cup competition in Australia.

Burke-Gilroy is most used to attacking roles and has 321 minutes in Portugal’s third division. In his 7 starts with the Jets U21s he netted 5 goals and assisted another.

S2 hosts Sacramento Republic at Cheney Stadium, Tacoma at 1:30 p.m. on May 6th. The match is on ESPN+ (Harvey, Riley, Clark).
