FINAL, SOUNDERS 1, FIRE 1: All things considered, the Sounders are probably a bit lucky to have gotten a point from this one. Despite outshooting the Fire 19-15, Chicago hit the crossbar and had several close-range chances either saved or just miss. For all this hard work, Stefan Frei also may have been knocked out by Alan Gordon on the match’s final play.
SOUNDERS 1, FIRE 1: Clint Dempsey tied the score and tied Fredy Montero on the all-time list for most Sounders goals during the regular season. The goal came off a nice feed from Will Bruin, leaving him with not much else to do other than push it toward goal in the 22nd minute.
Not Dempsey's prettiest goal, but it'll due. 1-1 Seattle. pic.twitter.com/hXGR9b67Gk

SOUNDERS 0, FIRE 1: Once again, the Sounders will need to dig themselves out of a hole. This time it was Aleksander Katai who gave the Chicago Fire a 1-0 lead in the 9th minute when he was allowed to line up a shot from about 23 yards out that Stefan Frei got a hand to but could not stop.

LINEUPS: For those wondering how the Seattle Sounders will figure out how to get Osvaldo Alonso, Gustav Svensson and Cristian Roldan onto the field at the same time, we may have gotten our answer. Although Svensson is still unavailable due to World Cup duties, Roldan was given his first start of the season at right back on Saturday against the Chicago Fire. This time it was to make way for Nicolas Lodeiro to reprise his role as an ostensible No. 8 alongside Alonso.
On the Fire’s side, the big surprise was Bastian Schweinsteiger, who most thought wouldn’t travel after he played in a midweek U.S. Open Cup match.
It is Pride Night in Seattle as the Sounders host the Chicago Fire. There will be a glorious celebration of love throughout the matchday activities. MLS Watercolorist will have a scavenger hunt for their amazing art.
On the pitch, the Seattle Sounders will seek to return to the form and methods that earned them two straight MLS Cup appearances and powerful late season runs. Their midfield is the healthiest it’s been in months, though the forward situation is still dire.
The Fire played midweek in Atlanta as they advanced in the US Open Cup. As an older team dealing with suspension and injury, they are likely to have to play through the fatigue.
Absences: Injury, international duty and suspension
Seattle: Lamar Neagle is questionable. Roman Torres and Gustav Svensson are still at the World Cup. The following players are out due to injury — Handwalla Bwana, Felix Chenkam, Kelvin Leerdam, Jordan Morris.
Fire: Johan Kappelhof is suspended due to accumulation and a red card. The following Chicago players are listed as out due to injury — Drew Conner, Michael de Leeuw, Patrick McLain, Djorjde Mihailovic, Matt Polster.
Osvaldo Alonso and Kevin Ellis will be suspended with accumulation on their next yellow card. Nouhou, Jordy Delem and Mo Adams are two yellow cards away from suspension.
Armando Villarreal is the center referee. Kevin Terry Jr. the video assistant.
