Gustav Svensson’s Sweden National Team teammate Jimmy Durmaz received racial abuse online after fouling Toni Kroos, setting up what turned out to be the decisive set-piece in Germany’s 2-1 victory on Saturday. Durmaz, whose father emigrated from Turkey, responded with a statement in Swedish, which was then accompanied by a collective message from the team that could be understood by just about anyone.
