FULL-TIME: The Sounders’ win streak ended with a thud. After looking like the better team for much of the match but failing to find the back of the net, the Sounders conceded a 93rd minute goal on the type of play they’ve avoided over the past few months.
After putting the Union under a fair amount of pressure, they appeared to diffuse a counter-attack when Kim Kee-hee was able to control a long ball over the top and pass back to Stefan Frei. Looking to get the attacking going the other way, he under hit a pass to Gustav Svensson. Fafa Picault was able to step in front of him, dribble in and then beat Frei through his legs.
The Sounders’ win streak stops at nine games and their unbeaten streak was halted at 12. They also dropped to sixth in the Western Conference after the Portland Timbers won their game against the Columbus Crew, but remain four points ahead of the Vancouver Whitecaps and six ahead of the LA Galaxy.
SOUNDERS 0, UNION 1: Fafa Picault picked off a poorly hit pass from Stefan Frei, went in 1v1 and beat the goalkeeper through his legs.

LINEUPS: Despite having just played on Saturday, the Seattle Sounders will be using a starting lineup that is virtually unchanged for Wednesday’s match against the Philadelphia Union. The only difference is Victor Rodriguez starting in place of Harry Shipp.
The Union, who are in a similar situation, also only made one change, although it’s a much more notable one. MLS assist leader Borek Dockal will get the evening off.
The Seattle Sounders go for their record-continuing 10th straight win, this time over the Philadelphia Union. The Union are coming off a blowout loss to the Montreal Impact, while the Sounders defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 on the road.
The match kicks off at 8 PM PT and airs on JOE TV.
Absences: Injury, international duty and suspension
Chenkham, Morris and Wingo are out for Seattle. Matt Real is out for Philadelphia with Illisnho and Borek Dockal listed as questionable.
No one is suspended for either side, but plenty of players will be suspended after two cards for the Sounders.
Suspended next card: Delem, SEA; Elliot, PHI
Suspended next two cards: Alonso, Lodeiro, C. Roldan, McCrary, Nouhou, SEA; McKenzie, Burke, PHI
