Every streak has to come to an end (I guess? To be honest, I don’t really know the rules when it comes to streaks). This one ended about as you would expect: Early injuries meant Brian Schmetzer and the Seattle Sounders had to use subs sooner and in different spots than they would have liked, chance after golden chance didn’t quite bounce Seattle’s way, and a rare error by Stefan Frei gave the Philadelphia Union all three points.
