YachtCon is back for a fourth edition, and this time it’s going to be at night. YachtCon: Nights will be held at Optimism Brewing in Capitol Hill on Thursday, Feb. 21 and will feature your usual lineup of panels, interviews, charity and fun.
In case you hadn’t heard, the previous three YachtCons raised more than $12,000 for charity. Like the previous two versions, all proceeds will be donated to the Seattle Children’s Autism Center.
We don’t yet have a ton of details, but we can tell you to base your expectations on previous iterations, which included guests like Sounders majority owner Adrian Hanauer, GM Garth Lagerwey, Sporting Director Chris Henderson, club legends like Steve Zakuani and Roger Levesque and players like Cristian Roldan, Alex Roldan and Stefan Frei (last year’s event even featured an arm-wrestling match between the Broldans!). We will also again have a Seattle Reign panel, which in the past has included owner Bill Predmore and players like Bev Yanez and Yael Averbuch.
There are a few changes you should be aware of:
Location: Optimism Brewing in Capitol Hill. As part of this change, we had to move the event to a Thursday evening. Hopefully this doesn’t cause too much inconvenience.
Tickets: General admission tickets are $15; this year they will include one drink ticket which you can use on any beer from Optimism’s menu. VIP tickets are $40 and will include a drink ticket, dinner, access to our VIP loft, and assorted swag. Tickets purchased at the door will cost $20 for GA and $50 for VIP, subject to availability.
Prizes: Instead of a raffle we’ll be holding a silent auction. That means you’ll have the ability to better control which items you win while helping us to raise more money. There may be opportunities to take home items in other ways, but most of the big prizes will be part of the silent auction.
Stay tuned as we unveil shirts, posters, and featured guests. Hope to see you there!
