Preseason schedule sends Sounders to Orange County and Tucson

The preaseason starts January 22

While the full preseason schedule for the Seattle Sounders is not yet out, the club announced several key dates. Training camp opens on January 22 at Starfire Sports in Tukwila, Wash. This is a full week after the MLS SuperDraft.

They will remain in Tukwila for only two days. The next phase of training sends the Sounders to Orange County, California. The team will be in California between January 24 and February 2.

After their trip to California, the players will have a couple days off in the greater Puget Sound region, followed by a single day of training at Starfire on Feb. 5.

After that they are off to Tucson for the Mobile Mini Sun Cup and related activities. Seattle is one of eight MLS organizations participating in the events put on by Phoenix Rising and FC Tucson. There are three announced matches for Seattle at this event, all at Kino North Stadium.

When the trip to Arizona wraps up the Seattle Sounders return to Starfire.

Although only the matches in Tucson have been announced at this point, it seems likely that a couple scrimmages will take place in Orange County, as well as some friendlies at Starfire or other local sites during those portions of the preseason calendar.

Finally, on March 2 at 7 PM the Seattle Sounders host expansion side FC Cincinnati to kick off MLS 2019.
