Reign FC’s Megan Rapinoe, Allie Long, and the U.S. Women’s National Team continues their push through the FIFA Women’s World Cup. After a record-breaking 13-0 victory over Thailand, the U.S. should be tested a bit more against Chile. Their Group F match kicks off at 9 AM PT on FOX, with Sweden facing Thailand at 6 AM.
Chile has one of the best goalkeepers in the world in Christiane Endler, who kept the scoreline closer than expected against Sweden. The match ended 2-0 while Endler faced 25 shots — 11 of which were on target. She’ll certainly give the U.S. attack more of a challenge.
WHAT A SAVE!

This is Chile’s World Cup debut, and they haven’t won a game since November of 2018. That was a celebratory victory, however, as Chile beat Australia in Sydney by a score of 3-2. They’ve since lost twice to Jamaica and were taken apart 7-0 by Netherlands.
Still, nine Chilean players are playing club soccer in Spain. This team has some veteran talent that will be more organized than Thailand.
Expect some rotation in the attack for the U.S. With a weaker group and strong goal differential heading into the match, Jill Ellis doesn’t need to keep some of her veteran attackers on the pitch to get them any needed momentum. They’re already feeling it. I expect Alex Morgan to start again, but Megan Rapinoe might get a rest this time around.
