The Sounders are back in the swing of things with the majority of the roster back, just Victor Rodriguez and Will Bruin likely missing, and that means it is perfect time for mid-season friendly. That friendly is with Borussia Dortmund, who start their USA Tour off in Seattle with the Sounders on Wednesday July 17.

Dortmund, who was expected to be leaving some of their summer signings behind, has brought most of big stars. New signings Mats Hummels (former Dortmund player as well) and Julian Brandt are with the club. Top attacker Mario Gotze and young star, Jadon Sancho, also made the team. Dortmund is likely going to rotate their squad heavily but the Bundesliga giants will put on a good show and plenty of big players will see the field.

Season ticket members can RSVP to see Dortmund train Tuesday evening at Seattle University.

Seattle’s starters are likely just going to play the first half before the reserves sub-on to finish the match. The Sounders are playing Dortmund, between Sunday home matches, against Atlanta United and the Portland Timbers. The Defiance last played Friday and has until Wednesday the 24th off, meaning any players loaned up for the match will be good to play 90 minutes.
