Fox Sports picks up Concacaf Champions League matches

English broadcast rights had been in limbo.

SOCCER: APR 24 MLS - San Jose Earthquakes at Seattle Sounders FC

Rest easy, Concacaf Champions League games will be available in English. Fox Sports announced on Monday that they have acquired the English-language broadcast rights for the next three tournaments, along with the 2021 and 2023 Gold Cups and men’s and women’s Olympic qualifying tournaments.

Univision already had the Spanish-language rights to CCL matches, but English-language rights had been in limbo after Verizon had aired them on Go90 two years ago and on Yahoo last year. Notably, both Go90 and Yahoo broadcasts were only available through those respective websites and apps.

Chances are, any CCL matches the Sounders play will be available on either FS1 or FS2. Even if they’re not available on TV, they will be available through Fox Sports’ streaming app.

The Sounders are scheduled to begin CCL play on Feb. 20 against Olimpia. The match was recently moved from Olimpia’s home stadium in Tegucigalpa, Honduras to San Pedro Sula. The return leg will be played at CenturyLink Field on Feb. 27.
