Full-Time: Man, that was grim. Neither team looked like they wanted to score so it makes sense that the game ended 0-0. One of those that you forget about and move on. Seattle gets to play Portland on Thursday in a battle for the top seed in the Western Conference.

Halftime: Well, that was a boring first half. Neither team created much and it was a half for those who love defense. San Jose probably had the best chance to score that resulted in Will Bruin clearing the ball off the line.

Hopefully the Sounders can pick up some momentum in the second half.

LINEUPS: The Sounders are rolling out with some unexpected changes. Most notably, Brad Smith is out of the lineup with a strained hamstring injury. He apparently picked up the injury in training and did not travel to San Jose. Nouhou will start in his place.

Alex Roldan also gets a start with Kelvin Leerdam being rested on the bench. Of course, all of the international duty players are still quarantining after returning from abroad.

The Seattle Sounders travel to the Bay Area tonight to take on the San Jose Earthquakes. You may remember the last time the Sounders played the Earthquakes. It was a 7-1 blowout. But this is a different San Jose team — they’ve won four of their last five matches and are coming off a 4-0 trouncing of the LA Galaxy. You’d be mistaken to think that tonight’s match will be easy for the Sounders.
