Fulltime: These gamethreads are supposed to be informative and give you insight to this game. I don’t have much to say other than that the Sounders stunk for over 90 minutes of a game and managed to take a point in a 1-1 draw. Portland doesn’t get to win four straight. Phew. What a relief.

93: LETS GOOOOOOOO

77’: So close.

Halftime: A half to forget forever. Portland dominate in every facet of play. I don’t even want to write anything else about it. Second half to come. One goal game. Okay, let’s do this.

30’: Jordy Delem had to be subbed off for a collision with the referee. Alex Roldan has come on.

11’: If you were going to ask me how not to start the game, it would be this. Timbers up early.

LINEUPS: No surprised from the Sounders tonight. Kelvin Leerdam is back in the lineup after being rested again San Jose. With no Brad Smith, Nouhou gets another start at LB.

Portland rotates some, including Jeremy Ebobisse who is out with a concussion. Diego Valeri starts on short rest.

This is hopefully the last Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timbers match in 2020. Both teams are in fantastic form and can make an argument that they deserve the title of “Best of the West.” You have to imagine that both coaches are looking at this fixture as an opportunity to cement themselves as the first place team in the Western Conference, given that their remaining schedules feature favorable matchups for both teams.

From a Sounders point of view, little motivation is needed to get up for this one. They are the better team. Let’s do this.
