Sounders receive 2019 MLS Cup Champions rings

Better late than never as the Sounders get their commemorative rings.

Nearly a year after winning the 2019 MLS Cup, the Seattle Sounders have the rings to show for it. Covered in diamonds and shining with the Sounders’ blue and rave green, the rings read “MLS CUP CHAMPIONS” and feature the Sounders crest on the face, with an image of the MLS Cup and “Seattle Sounders 2019” on the side.

This clearly isn’t the first time the Sounders have gotten MLS Cup rings, and the makers of this edition made sure to commemorate that with a few details to honor the two-time champions. The most prominent nod is the two stars placed between the words “MLS Cup” above the Sounders crest, mirroring the two stars above the crest on Sounders jerseys and in the club’s branding. A more subtle reference to the second championship comes in how the word “CHAMPIONS” is rendered. On the ring the single “I” is replaced with the Roman numeral II.

As you can see in the above tweet, the side opposite the one with the MLS Cup has been customized for each individual player with their name and number displayed over the view into CenturyLink Field from the South end of the stadium.

Replica rings will be issued to 2020 Season Ticket Members when they receive their Alliance Member scarves at the start of the 2021 season.
