Sounders injury report: Xavier Arreaga clears quarantine

Gustav Svensson and Danny Leyva appear to be the only absences.

Xavier Arreaga has cleared his mandated quarantine period and will be available for selection when the Seattle Sounders host FC Dallas tonight. It was not immediately clear when Arreaga returned to training, but his quarantine was scheduled to end on Saturday. Best-case scenario, Arreaga has trained no more than three times since last playing for the Sounders on Nov. 8.

Given his limited training time, it would not be at all surprising to see Shane O’Neill start again. O’Neill and Arreaga both started 13 matches during the regular season.

Kelvin Leerdam, as previously reported, has been training since at least Friday after missing last week’s game with a hamstring injury.

The news was not as positive for Gustav Svensson and Danny Leyva, who were both declared out for the FC Dallas match. Svensson still has not been medically cleared to resume training since returning from international duty on Nov. 19. The most likely scenario is that Cristian Roldan will again slide into the defensive midfield with Joevin Jones starting at right midfield.

Leyva, who missed most of the season with a broken foot, apparently suffered a quad strain that will keep him out for this game.
