FULLTIME: After falling behind 2-0 about midway through the second half, the Seattle Sounders mounted a comeback for the ages to punch their ticket for a second straight MLS Cup final. Will Bruin got the comeback started with a goal in 75th minute; Raúl Ruidíaz equalized in the 89th minute; and Gustav Svensson grabbed the winner in the 94th minute.
This was the first time the Sounders had erased a multi-goal deficit in a playoff game and was their eighth straight postseason win. They’ve also now won 15 straight home playoff games.
The Sounders will now face the Columbus Crew in MLS Cup on Dec. 12.
SOUNDERS 3, UNITED 2: Gustav Svensson grabbed the winner in the 94th minute, heading in a corner from Nicolas Lodeiro. The Sounders erased a 2-0 second-half deficit to pull it out.

VAR DISALLOWS EQUALIZER: Raul Ruidiaz appeared to equalize in the 54th minute but it was disallowed when he was deemed to have fouled Michael Boxall in the buildup.

HALFTIME: The Sounders created some chances, but ultimately went into half down 1-0 after Emanuel Reynoso’s gorgeous free kick from 30 yards out. Both Shane O’Neill and Alex Roldan picked up yellow cards, which might force Brian Schmetzer to think about some chanes.
SOUNDERS 0, UNITED 1: Emanuel Reynoso stroked a wonderful free kick from about 30 yards in the 29th minute to stake the Loons to an early lead. Shane O’Neill was a little lucky not to have been red-carded on the foul that led to it.

Well, it’s time. The Seattle Sounders are in the Western Conference Final and their opponent is Minnesota United. The Sounders got here by dispatching FC Dallas and LAFC. The Loons posted identical 3-0 score lines against the Colorado Rapids and Sporting Kansas City en route to their first-ever conference final.
The underdog narrative certainly applies to Adrian Heath as he faces the Sounders. He’s 0-7-1 against the Sounders all time, with his teams only managing to score four goals — and never more than one — in those eight matches. He seems to love the moniker, so we’ll see how that goes for him tonight.
