You might think the Seattle Sounders would be bored of so much winning after all these years — this was their fourth Western Conference champions trophy in five years and 12th piece of silverware in 12 years — but the thrill of victory seemingly never wears off, especially when it comes in such dramatic fashion as last night’s 3-2 win over Minnesota United.

After the formal trophy presentation the players put their own personal touch on the celebration. Nico Lodeiro tested out a potential upgrade to his shoephone, but I’m not sure this would be quite as portable.

At one point after the players received their championship T-shirts, a large game of Ring Around the Rosie broke out around one of the videographers.

Fans might not have been able to celebrate in the stadium with the Sounders, but the team has continued their post-game tradition of saluting the Brougham End and acknowledging the support from afar.

I’m not sure where a “Nouhou” fits in the pantheon of Champagne bottle sizes – perhaps somewhere between a Balthazar and a Nebuchadnezzar – but most of the champagne in the locker room appears to have ended up on Brian Schmetzer rather than in the trophy cup itself. Hopefully Coach asks for a dry cleaning allowance in his new contract.

But some clearly did end up in the trophy, leading to Nico inventing a new mixed drink.

Here’s hoping we get to witness even more antics like this in five days.
