The Seattle Sounders preseason continues to be exciting as it appears another player is going trial with the Sounders. First reported by Washington Post’s Steven Goff, Miguel Ibarra will join the Sounders later this week in Mexico.
@Migue10Ibarra, let go by Minnesota United after 2019 season, expected to begin trial with Seattle later this week in Mexico, where Sounders are preparing for Concacaf Champions League, team source says. #mls

Sounder at Heart has independently confirmed Goff’s report. Ibarra has not been offered any contract as of yet.
Ibarra has spent his entire MLS career with Minnesota United. The 29-year-old has spent some time in Mexico, transferring to Club Leon from MNUFC (NASL version) in July of 2015. He returned to the Loons ahead of their inaugural MLS season in 2017. Ibarra has played 84 MLS matches, scoring 11 goals and tallying 14 assists. He has played primarily as a right-midfielder.
Ibarra had his option declined by Minnesota after the 2019 season and went unselected in the re-entry draft.
