We are exactly three weeks away from YachtConV: Homecoming. So far, we’ve sold about two-thirds of our tickets, which puts us well on pace to have our biggest crowd ever. We’re also well on our way to putting together our programming.
Most recently, we also launched a new shirt. It started off as a bit of a joke, but the response was so overwhelmingly positive that we decided to go ahead and make it (pictured above). The shirts are made by Admiral Sports — the same company that makes the Tacoma Stars’ uniforms — and we have high hopes for them. We’ll be getting a sample ready in time for YachtCon, so you’ll be able to see and feel them before you pay, although they won’t be shipped until after the event.
That said, we are taking pre-orders (linked in the sidebar), mainly to get a sense of interest and to offer them to anyone who won’t be able to attend. The cost will be $60 for shirts with any name and number you want, or $55 for shirts with no name or number. We’ll have men’s shirts (order here) and women’s shirts (order here) available. Since the shirts won’t be ordered until after the event — and will only be ordered once — the price includes delivery.
As for the event itself, we think we are well on our way to putting together a pretty great program. Both MLS Cups will be there along with Sammy the Sounder for photo opportunities; Will Bruin has told us he’ll be holding a live advice session, with some help from Brad Evans; we’ll be having another Reign panel; Garth Lagerwey has told us he has it on his calendar; and we suspect we’ll have a couple more panels as well.
Like previous events, all proceeds will be donated to the Seattle Children’s Hospital Autism Center. To help us reach our $10,000 fundraising goal, we’ll be holding another charity auction for which we’re deep into gathering items.
We’re also auctioning off four more VIP tickets (we sold the first four very quickly) during a live video event on the new Nos Audietis Twitch channel on Saturday, Feb. 15 from about 2:30pm-3:30pm. We’ll be doing a podcast, while also announcing bids as they come in. If you’re interested in participating in the auction, you can text your bid and name to (937) 848-1066.
In case you missed it, the event is Feb. 25 at Hale’s Palladium in the Fremont neighborhood. At the very least, it’s a great chance to meet your fellow readers. We’d love to see you.
