Drew Carey revealed as Llama on Masked Singer

Sounders minority owner used Seattle as one of his clues.

When people saw Drew Carey’s name trending on Twitter, it appears a lot of them feared the worst. It turns out, it was for a good reason.

The Seattle Sounders minority owner — who is credited with championing Democracy in Sports — was revealed as the Masked Singer’s Llama on Wednesday night.

This had apparently been a popular theory among various internet communities in large part because one of the clues was a connection to Seattle.

Although the Internet seemed to have Carey nailed, the judges were apparently stumped and didn’t seem to pay particular attention to the Seattle clue. Jason Biggs and Robin Thicke thought Llama might be ”Jackass” star Johnny Knoxville. Ken Jeong guessed fellow Community star Joel McHale, who is from Seattle. Jenny McCarthy suggested it was Zach Galifianakis. Mila Scherzinger guessed Woody Harrelson.

Carey noted the “Seattle” clue was a bit of a fakeout, as the judges apparently guessed it meant Llama was from there. “I’m actually in Seattle a lot because I’m the part owner of the Seattle Sounders soccer team,” Carey said. “We recently won the MLS Championship, by the way.”

Carey was good enough to make it through two round. He sang the Ricky Martin song “She Bangs” in his first performance.

For his second performance, Carey performed a song Tom Jones’ “It’s Not Unusual.”
