Step by step, we continue to approach the Menswear Madness final. As we entered the quarterfinals the possibility of a Cinderella story was alive and well, but that hope ended when each of the higher seeds in the four match-ups advanced to the semis. Each of the remaining looks was either a 1 or 2 seed, meaning we’re in for some stiff competition as we decide our two finalists. Any of the four remaining competitors would be a deserving champion, but there can be only one Flylander, so let’s get to chopping and let the voting decide.

We all know what we have to do, so let’s not put it off any longer.
#1 Jordy Delem’s Snack Jacket vs #2 Dandy Bryan Meredith
Jordy Delem and his posse are the lone remaining no. 1 seed in the semifinals, and there’s no real surprise in their inclusion: they’ve got a strong base of great head-to-toe looks and a dazzling centerpiece. The jacket Delem’s sporting is, appropriately, an explosion of color amidst the all-black looks of his companions. It’s a bit of fun, a break from the rest of the darkness that surrounds us, providing a bit of levity that every wardrobe - not to mention every person - needs. For his part, Bryan Meredith’s look is pretty fun, too. If you like a more dressed-up look, or just have a thing for a good color story, Meredith may be the pick for you. If you like bold graphics and designer accessories, Delem and his companions might be your guys.

#2 Jordan Morris in Grayscale vs #2 Love, Kee-hee
By the nature of being two no. 2 seeds, this is of course a close contest, but for me it’s by far the toughest decision of the tournament. I’ve sung the praises of this look from Jordan Morris, and this look in particular, at length, but faced with the choice of Morris or Kim Kee-hee moving on to the finals I find myself frozen by the weight of the decision. That’s what a semifinal is supposed to be though, a meeting of two deserving potential champions. These two looks are expressions of two men of style and taste at or near their very best. Ultimately, I suppose, it will all come down to personal preference. Do you prefer Morris’s tonal look, his boots and his jacket, or are you moved by “love” or any of the other perfect touches to Kee-hee’s ‘fit? Are the Gucci sneakers enough to make the departed centerback a shoe-in for the finals?

Once more, let’s pause and spare a thought for those that didn’t reach the semis.
