The beautiful game, like just about everything in the world, is on pause because of a global pandemic (seriously, stay home). Under normal circumstances, the National Women’s Soccer League would be in the heart of their pre-season right now, with the 2020 regular season kicking off in two weeks. That is not the case for OL Reign and the eight other teams in the NWSL, as they are now preparing to hopefully start their 2020 season in June.
Formerly Seattle Reign FC/Reign FC, OL Reign is still very much the top-flight women’s team representing the Puget Sound region. The name, crest, and color changes wasn’t easy for everyone, but the inclusion of OL Groupe from France has brought added resources which should help ensure the club can stay in the Puget Sound region for years to come.
Midfielder Jess Fishlock has been with the Reign since day one and is unquestionably the heart and soul of the team. While she and the club can’t do too much to prepare for the season right now, that didn’t stop her from joining us on the 2020 season premiere of your favorite podcast about your favorite NWSL team.
Enjoy our latest chat with Jess Fishlock as she talks about how she’s passing the time during the stay-at-home order, her recovery from an ACL tear, the club’s re-brand, and the prospect of an OL Reign cookbook?!
