OL Reign schedule revealed for NWSL Challenge Cup

The full NWSL Challenge Cup schedule was released by the league today. OL Reign will kick off the tournament against Sky Blue FC on Tuesday, June 30 at 7 PM PT.

The club has three additional matches before the quarterfinals begin:

• Saturday, July 4 at 9:30 AM PT: OL Reign v. Washington Spirit
• Wednesday, July 8 at 9:30 AM PT: Utah Royals v. OL Reign
• Sunday, July 12 at 7 PM PT: Portland Thorns v. OL Reign

The top eight teams from the preliminary stage will advance to the quarterfinal knockout round, which begins on Friday, July 17. That would give the Reign five days to recover — as long as they avoid the bottom of the table in the opening rounds of play.

All matches will be played at either 9:30 AM PDT or 7 PM PDT, presumably to avoid hot afternoon matches and to allow enough time for crews to clean the facilities between games.

Both the tournament opener and the final will air on CBS and will be streamed on the CBS All Access subscription service. All other games will be live on CBS All Access in the U.S. and Canada and will re-air on CBS Sports Network. Fans outside the U.S. and Canada can stream the full tournament on Twitch.

Every game through the quarterfinals will be played at Zions Bank Stadium, with the semifinals and championship game taking place at Rio Tinto Stadium, home to the Utah Royals and RSL.

Teams can bring 28 players to the tournament, and all clubs must submit their final rosters by June 21.
