After months of anticipation following the re-brand from Reign FC to OL Reign, the 2020 kits were finally unveiled tonight at a virtual meeting for season ticket members.

Modeled by midfielder Jess Fishlock and defender Celia Jiménez Delgado, the white kit will serve as the club’s primary and features a vibrant red stripe running down the side of the shirt. A spot of red also features just above the collar.

Forward Darian Jenkins models the blue kit, which will be the club’s secondary. It features the brighter blue the club has adopted as part of the re-brand as the shirt, while the shorts are a darker shade of blue, perhaps an homage to the club’s original colors.

Seattle-based e-commerce site Zulily remains the shirt sponsor on the front, while airplane manufacturer Boeing returns as back of the shirt sponsor, placed just below the kit numbers.

When the club redesigned their website, it was likely that the color scheme would be carried over to the kits, as well as following the tradition of Olympique Lyonnais men’s & women’s teams in using white as their primary kit.

The change in the club’s crest and aesthetics hasn’t been easy for a lot of fans. OL Reign CEO Bill Predmore conceded it was hard to move on from the original crest, but a change was needed to reflect the new era for the club. When he spoke about the re-brand with Sounder at Heart back in January, he said, “I’m very hopeful that people will be excited about what we come up with.”

In addition to the jersey, the Reign unveiled a limited supply of t-shirts, sweatshirts and other accessories on the club’s online shop.

With tonight’s reveal of the 2020 kits and rollout of merchandise, we can now begin to take in full the re-brand as we get ready to watch OL Reign play in the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup starting on Tuesday, June 30 against Sky Blue FC.
