Update, Sept. 14: The previously hoped for improvement in air quality has not come as quickly as forecast, leading to further postponement of OL Reign’s game at the Portland Thorns now that smoke is expected to linger in the region through at least the rest of this week. The match is now scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 7 PM PT, and will be broadcast worldwide on Twitch.

Portland is scheduled to travel to Utah to face the Royals on Sunday, Sept. 20, while OL Reign’s next scheduled match is also in Utah, on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Original story:

With a “super-massive body of smoke” lingering over the region and extremely hazardous air quality due to large wildfires affecting much of the west coast, the NWSL made the decision today to postpone Saturday’s OL Reign game at the Portland Thorns FC. The game is now scheduled to be played on Tuesday, September 15 at 7:00 PM PT, and will be broadcast globally on Twitch.

In conjunction, the North Carolina Courage game against Houston Dash, originally scheduled for Friday evening, has been moved to Saturday afternoon and will be broadcast on CBS in that time slot.

Air quality in the Portland area is in the Unhealthy to Very Unhealthy range, and is forecast to remain hazardous through the weekend before improving on Monday as a front moves through.
