Nico Lodeiro leads the way as the top Sounders player.

On Wednesday afternoon Major League Soccer hosted an event on their Twitch and Twitter channels to unveil the ratings of some of the top players from the league. Some players, including Blaise Matuidi who tied with Carlos Vela for the top-rated player in the league with an 83 FIFA rating, joined the hosts of the show to unveil their stats and ratings.

Along the way as particular stats were highlighted, the top-5 rated players for those stats were revealed. Some of the stars of the Seattle Sounders made their way onto these lists, as Nico Lodeiro earned the fifth highest dribbling stat with an 81 and Raúl Ruidíaz’s 78 shooting is the third highest in the league.

Lodeiro’s dribbling isn’t his only impressive stat in the game. His 80 passing and 72 shooting helped to earn him the number 9 spot in the league’s top-10 rated players with a 78 overall rating.

MLS also put out the top-5 players at each position, where Lodeiro yet again appeared as the 4th best midfielder in the league behind the likes of World Cup winner Blaise Matuidi and Alejandro Pozuelo. Lodeiro wasn’t the only player to make one of those lists, though, as Yeimar Gómez Andrade topped the list of the league’s highest-rated defenders with a 76, and Stefan Frei’s 75 rating puts him in a four-way tie behind top-rated goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer.

As an added bonus, midfielder Danny Leyva made a list put out by EA Sports of “Career Mode Hidden Gems.” The list includes the players with the highest potential overall growth, and Leyva is the league’s only representative, although he has plenty of fellow Americans for company.

As we wait for the rest of the ratings to be made available, which Sounders ratings are you most excited to see for FIFA 21?
