UPDATE: Jordan Morris was available off the bench but did not play in Swansea City’s 1-1 tie with Brentford.

Jordan Morris could make his Swansea City debut as soon as Wednesday and it could hardly be in a bigger match. Swans manager Steve Cooper told the press on Monday that his newest signing will “definitely be available” for the match against fourth-place Brentford.

Swansea sit second in the EFL Championship table, equal on points with third-place Watford and only two points clear of fourth-place Brentford. A win would not only close Swansea’s gap with Norwich City at the top of the table to four points with an equal number of games played, but it would also leave them no worse than second place. Watford visits Millwall on Tuesday and has played one more match than Swansea.

The Swans are riding a seven-match unbeaten streak across all competitions, including a 4-0-1 record in league matches. Their most recent game was a 5-1 win over fellow Championship side Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, which set up a fifth-round match against Manchester City on Feb. 10.

Although Brentford is coming off a 3-1 loss to Leicester City on Sunday in the FA Cup fourth round, they are riding a 16-match unbeaten streak in league play, including four straight wins. Swansea and Brentford tied their first meeting of the season, 1-1, on Nov. 3.
