The YachtCollege final will test your Puget Sound soccer knowledge

See how you stack up against your fellow students.

No college experience would be complete if you didn’t have a final to deal with. #YachtCollege is no different, so on Saturday, March 27, at 7 PM PUB 140: Knowledge Testing in Contest Format will push your grasp of professional soccer in the Puget Sound region to its limits.

The exam, proctored by Tim Foss, will be a virtual pub quiz hosted on the Kahoot! platform. Registration is free, but a $10 donation to the Seattle Children’s Autism Center is recommended. Downloading the Kahoot! app is encouraged, but not required. Participants will be sent a link to the quiz on the day of the exam. While teams are the ideal way to participate in a traditional pub quiz, the platform and the pandemic make teams inadvisable unless you live in the same household. The exam will consist of 50 questions, with a mix of multiple-choice, true or false, and some type your own answer questions. The faster you provide your answer, the more points correct answers will get you.

As is customary for pub quizzes, prizes will be awarded to top participants. Those prizes range from jerseys to gift cards, and maybe even a bottle of something for those old enough to partake. If it wouldn’t be a pub quiz without some drinks for you, you couldn’t go wrong with a few cans of YachtCon’s own beer, Craft Casual, brewed in collaboration with Stoup Brewing and Fast Fashion Brewing. It can be found just about anywhere fine beers are sold in the Puget Sound region, as well as from the Masonry.

Beyond PUB 140 on Saturday, there are still plenty of YachtCon classes to broaden your horizons. Wednesday’s ART 206: Adventures in Watercoloring still has room for those interesting in auditing, as David Estrada joins MLS Watercolors as the celebrity guest. PZA 007: Fashionable Pizza Making on Friday night at 7 PM still has tickets available. Paid students will receive ingredients for two pizzas as well as a 4-pack of Craft Casual for those 21 years and older. All in attendance will get an education in pizza from Matt Storm of the Masonry.

Finally, Sunday night will feature GM 442: How to Maintain a Dynasty. Guest lecturer Garth Lagerwey will join Jeremiah Oshan to close out YachtCon: Back to School with an in-depth conversation and some opportunities for fun and charitable giving.
