UPDATE: There’s been no official announcement, but Garth Lagerwey told KJR that they were expecting Xavier Arreaga to join Ecuador’s national team following Sunday’s game.
Although the Seattle Sounders have a three-week break between games after this Sunday’s match against Austin FC, many of their players will be quite busy. In addition to the previously announced call-up of Nouhou to the Cameroon national team, Raúl Ruidíaz and Brad Smith have also been summoned for their respective countries’ World Cup qualifiers.
With the FIFA window not opening until May 31, this shouldn’t cause any of the players to miss Sunday’s game.
Ruidíaz was one of 28 players named to Peru’s roster for games on June 3 (vs. Colombia) and 8 (at Ecuador). It was not immediately clear if Peru will name a different roster for Copa America matches that are scheduled to start about a week later and could potentially keep Ruidíaz away until at least July 10. The Sounders have five matches scheduled from June 19-July 7.

Smith was one of 31 players named to Australia’s roster for four upcoming World Cup qualifiers between June 3-15.
Tacoma Defiance’s Alec Díaz has also been named to Puerto Rico’s national team for World Cup qualifiers on June 2 and 8. The Defiance have a match on June 8 against Las Vegas Lights.
