Major League Soccer announced a pair of schedule changes to Seattle Sounders matches.
FS1 has opted to broadcast the club’s match against expansion side Austin FC, and therefore the match has been moved to May 30 at 6:30 PM local time. The match was previously set to be played on May 29. It will be the first-ever match between the two clubs. That also creates a scheduling conflict with OL Reign, who host the Washington Spirit at 4 PM.
Additionally, Seattle’s match against the San Jose Earthquakes has been moved up one day to July 31 at 2 PM local time. That match, previously scheduled to be held on Aug. 1, will now air on JOEtv and Prime Video. While not as tight of a turnaround, this also creates a bit of a conflict with OL Reign, who are hosting host Racing Louisville FC at Cheney Stadium at 7:00 PM.
Both matches will continue to have local radio broadcasts on 950 KJR AM (English) and El Rey 1360 AM (Spanish).
After a 3-0 win over the LA Galaxy last Sunday, the Sounders (2-0-1, 7 points) jumped to the top of the Supporters’ Shield standings three weeks into the 2021 season. The Sounders are set to take on their rivals Portland Timbers this Sunday at noon, in a match that will be broadcast nationally on ABC. This will be the Sounders’ first-ever regular season appearance on that network.
