That was not the way Seattle Sounders FC wanted to open their 2022 MLS campaign. After looking dominant in their Concacaf Champions League home leg on Thursday night, the Sounders looked anything but for much of their match with Nashville SC.
Seattle was lucky to last as long as they did, with numerous giveaways in their buildup play that could easily have led to them going behind. In the end, it was an Aníbal Godoy second-chance back-post tap-in that did them in.
