Everything you need to know about Sounders-FC Dallas

The Seattle Sounders catch an FC Dallas team that is in the middle of a tough stretch of their schedule, playing the second of three consecutive road games and playing their third game in a week. On Wednesday, they had to go 120 minutes in an U.S. Open Cup at New York Red Bulls. The Sounders will look to take advantage.

Here’s what you need to know:

Injury news

Sounders

OUT: Paul Arriola - Knee; Jordan Morris - Hamstring

QUESTIONABLE: Danny Musovski - Hip; Jackson Ragen - Hamstring

Dallas

OUT: Luciano Acosta - Supsended; Léo Chú - Knee; Sebastian Lletget - Upper Leg

Opposition players to watch

  • Pedrinho: With Lucho Acosta out, the playmaking responsibilities will likely fall on the shoulders of Pedrinho. The Brazilian came through North Texas SC where he had 13 goals and two assists last year. He has two goals and two assists so far in 2025 for Dallas and has been a consistent bright spot.
  • Osaze Urhoghide: Another newcomer this year, the centerback has been a standout for Dallas while leading the backline. He is coming off a 120-minute performance at midweek, though, so might be on somewhat tired legs.

Stats to look smart

  • 12: FC Dallas is tied for the most road points in the Western Conference with 12, going 3-1-3. Their only road loss, though, was a doozy as they fell 5-0 to San Diego FC.
  • 2.20: The Sounders are 3-0-2 in their first five home games of the season, good for 2.20 points per game. That puts them third in the Western Conference. They’re +9 goal-difference at Lumen Field is tied for the best mark in MLS.

Tactics to impress

Even when they’re at their best, Dallas is not a team that wants a ton of the ball and would prefer to spend the game getting out on counter-attacks. That’s probably even more the case in this game as they’re going to be working with tired legs and a bit short-handed. The Sounders simply can’t afford to let them get dug in.

The Sounders have quietly become one of the top pressing teams in the league and will surely be looking to jump on top of Dallas early and often. The trick will be translating turnovers into scoring opportunities.
