Seattle Reign was back at home on Friday night, taking on the Washington Spirit in their last home match until August 1. The Reign let the Spirit dictate the game in the first half, giving up two first-half goals in the 11th and 35th minutes.
Shae Holmes opened her professional goal-scoring account for the Reign, scoring in the 17th minute. The Reign pushed for an equalizer in the second half, but couldn't create enough dangerous chances.
The Reign have a week off as players report for international duty during the FIFA window. They'll return to NWSL play on Friday, June 6, with a road match against the San Diego Wave.
