Seattle Reign vs. Boston Breakers: Photos

Seattle Reign's undefeated streak is alive and well. Sounder at Heart photographer, Mike Russell, was on hand at Memorial Stadium for their latest win.

And so it goes. Seattle Reign win again after going down early against the Boston Breakers.

The overwhelming theme to this shoot (for me anyway) was the heat. It was so much hotter down on the pitch compared to up in the stands. Easily 10-15 degrees hotter, at least. The padding underneath the turf felt like it was on the verge of melting. It was definitely softer than usual.

There was a point during warm-ups when I was sitting there, in the hot sun, not moving, and sweating like crazy. I couldn't imagine playing in heat like that. (I know, I know, perhaps I've just lived in Seattle too long.)

Anyway, it was quite the battle out there. You could see Kim Little getting frustrated as the match went on, especially with the referee. And frankly, given how frequent penalties have been called this season, I was surprised she wasn't awarded one.

But in the end they didn't need it. And the unbeaten streak goes on.
