Reign dominate NWSL Best XI selections

The Seattle Reign continue clean up in the NWSL post-season awards. Fresh off having Laura Harvey named Coach of the Year and Kim Little being named MVP, the Reign had a league-best four players named to the NWSL XI first team and three more named to the second team. No other team had more than three players named to the first team (FC Kansas City) and no one else had more than four players named to both teams (Portland Thorns).

Joining Little (16 goals, seven assists) on the first team were center back Kendall Fletcher, midfielder Jess Fishlock (four goals, eight assists) and forward Nahomi Kawasumi (nine goals, five assists). In a nod to just how great the Reign defense was (a league-low .83 goals per game), goalkeeper Hope Solo and defenders Stephanie Cox and Lauren Barnes were named to the second team.

Sunday's NWSL Championship Game between the Reign and FCKC will feature seven-first teamers.
