Today the Reign revealed the new kit lineup for the 2015 season. The rotation now includes three distinct looks (as well as the existing purple keeper kit from last season).
Fortunately for those who thought that last season's blue and black was one of the best looks in the league (a group that includes us here at Ride of the Valkyries), that kit is still the primary home kit for the team. But the team has completely redesigned the away kit to one with stacked layers of white, blue, and platinum. It's a very clean, distinct look and I'd expect it to sell well in summer.
The real eye-catcher was the team's first ever third kit. It is a not-at-all subtle coupling of dark purple and bright yellow (reminiscent of the Sounders' electricity yellow). Neither is a color associated with the team, but that's not really a consideration for third kits which are often designed to be as distinctive as possible. That's certainly the case here.
All the kits continue to bear the logo of the sponsor Moda Health, which remains a well-designed and unobtrusive logo that doesn't detract from the overall look.
The new away jerseys are on sale now at the team shop (with last year's away jerseys heavily discounted) and the Ultraviolet jerseys can be preordered. The team's next match is Friday when they host the University of Washington at Memorial, and it would be a fine time to see the Ultraviolets in action.
